This query that popped to me is not just a formulation, it requires and includes also asking myself whether I have worked on these dreams, or just stay contented with the simple things I am doing for God’s glory. So, the question should really be modified to “What can I do for the attainment of God’s goal? Or, if I have done something, is it enough and worth-offering to a great God?”
Well, for my long years of existence, only a small part constitutes my years of serving God, I feel so ashamed for not working better for Him. He is giving me enough time to do my obligation at my best, but as I look into my accomplishments, I can see more spaces to be filled up. Thank God, I am still alive, I’m still strong and my memory is still working very well. Hence, before these gifts blow up, I must make the best out of my every breath doing His will. I do not want to regret when my time comes, and my life has been useless and wasted.
How many souls have I helped to be saved? How much time do I spend talking to Him? Whew! It is hard to evaluate because, at some point, I have been a turtle-like Christian. So now, God taps me. As His word says, “.. it is the last time” (I John 2:18), and so, the more we should spend effort in Christianizing the world. We are at the end, there is no more time to be blanked.
Furthermore, it is also important to establish our dream, our goal. What should we do for God? What is our dream, is it the same with God’s goal? These should be cleared to us aside from the other dream we have like being a lawyer, doctor, teacher, etc. dreaming is better with hard work, but best when it is for God. Dream that someday, you will stand in front of many people, sharing the Good News, doing what God wants you to do. This is the real success we should aim to achieve. And, if ever you are afraid to move and too shy to face the world, remember, God is with you, He can make things possible.
Also, bear in mind that in everything we do, let us acknowledge Him, and He will guide us in all things (Prov. 3:6). Our hard work is nothing without faith, and our dreams are nothing when not being prayed for.
So, why don’t dream now? Try it! J
Philippians 3:14 (New Living Translation, 2007)
“I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”
