"should I write something about debauchery, featuring myself ?"- LOL. this was my last tweet before I blogged this.
Well, wonder why I mentioned about debauchery? AHAHA.. I really want to make good use of that word .. so here it goes..
I met the word "debauchery" when I was 13. Funny, but I am a Filipino so English was not my first language. Don't expect me to be an English dictionary. (XD)
Anyway, going back to the topic. At first, I thought it was some kind of "good" word since it sounded nice. But, as I went along looking on my dictio, I was surprised reading this..
"Corruption of fidelity; seduction from virtue, duty, or allegiance... Excessive indulgence of the appetites; especially, excessive indulgence of lust; intemperance; sensuality; habitual lewdness."
- WebsterWHEW! I always want to play with words but this one is some sort of "extra-negative" and "extremely bad" that certainty and carefulness are pre-requisites to use it. Bad one good thing about today was, not only I was reminded of this strange word but, I was also prompted by these verse I had read weeks ago:
"Young people, enjoy your youth. Do what you want to do, and follow your heart's desire. But remember that God is going to judge you for whatever you do. Don't let anything worry you or cause you pain. You aren't going to be young very long." - Ecclesiastes 11:9-10
So pleasant to hear right? Imagine, God really wants us to enjoy our being young because this stage is so short as our hair is! However, in this verse, God also reminds us that He is going to judge us for whatever we do. So, let us be careful of what we are doing. Make sure that you are not going beyond your limit .. not getting extremely bad and excessively indulged.
That's the reason why the word "debauchery" is existing- it has to differentiate what's enough from what is too much.
I am also enjoying my young life so I understand why you guys want to grouch before your parents when they forbid you to do what you want or reprimand you for doing something. But, our parents just want us to enjoy our youth because it is just short. If they allow us to break strange grounds, we might be jeopardized. Bear in mind, God will judge us for whatever we do, good or bad!
Look around you. Do you see young pregnant women? Lady in skirts and shirts, sexually abused? Young boy behind jail rails? Rugby boys in tousled clothes? Group of young people being hazed? Can you see these strayed teens seemingly in lost of hopes? Young people in debauchery so now, in DILEMMA?
I don't think these teens enjoy their youth by soaking themselves too much on doing what they want to do. I think, they are debauched.
Maybe, in this point, the parents have to check themselves, too on whether they are guiding their children well. It is the responsibility of the parents to train up their child the way they should go, so when they get old they would not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). I am not a parent yet, but I believe being too strict would even cause the children to rebel. I know some teens doing the same and I know some old people maltreating their kids because they were trained in that way, as well. Do not deprive your kids from enjoying. Yet, as you are already parents, I believe you know the correct limitations you should impose to your sons and daughters.
"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."- Ephesians 6:4

To the children, of course, be respectful and obedient to your parents. As the Word of God says in Ephesians 6:1-3, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
Other verses say the same:
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.- Colossians 3:20
Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you.- Deuteronomy 5:16
My son, keep your father's and do not forsake your mother's teaching.-Proverbs 6:20
I wanna say sorry to my parents and acting-parents for being hardheaded sometimes. I want to enjoy my life but I believe, you just want the best for me. I hope that you would understand how our trends as youth go as I understand your rules as parents. I will obey you with all my best and I pray to God that He would continue on bringing peace in our home.
Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.- Proverbs 1:8
Of course, I always believe that no true parents would want their children to get ruined and no true children would hate their parents because God created us as family, supposed to have love, peace, hope and faith to God.
