Desolately, that morning was our last day in Teacher’s Camp. I was a little bit sad for I would surely miss my blanket, covering me so tightly, and my pillow, hugging my head out of frigidity. I really hesitated to open my eyes and make a simple movement in my bed though I could already hear the clamor of my schoolmates and my teachers awakening everyone for the last day of our journey in the summer capital.
Alas! After a four-day stay inside the camp, I would now meander around my most favorite sanctuary. By then, I forced my sleepy body to wake up and get ready for a city tour!
All of them were very busy preparing and fixing their clothes and other things in order to pack them in their luggage. Some were pretty bit irritated regarding the “bathing sessions” and some were creating their own way of changing clothes in the nook.
I? I was just looking around the whole area. Probably, I was just wondering how I reached that spot, why I was in Baguio, or what I should do.
But, anyway, six months had passed since the last time I’d been in the place. So, I was really excited to promenade around. Albeit I was feeling so sleepy, I geared up myself before entering the rented jeepney. Unluckily, I fell asleep, about 20 minutes after we left the camp. I was not able to view for the fourth time the wonders of the highways in the city.
Chuckles, laughters, and sound trips knocked my ears causing my spirit to be totally awakened. It’s the place to be! The Bell Church, a Chinese Temple, struck my eyes. It was definitely fascinating most especially the dragons scattered around. Everyone wondered how many dragons were there but, due to being a sloth, I did not mind to count them anymore. It seemed like we were in Macao. It’s really a place you wouldn’t believe to be located in the Philippines. Of course, it’s an opportunity to grab pictures within the area. And, for me, that’s the finest souvenir I got.
Next stop was in the Strawberry Farm. Well, it’s my first time to be in that place and in such place. It made think about our place in QC because as you look on it, it would just seem as an ordinary farm. But still, it’s somehow unique. We enjoyed seeing the strawberries thriving on that land.
The fun was augmented by the fabulous strawberry-flavored ice cream which was absolutely the most mouth-watering ice cream I’ve ever encountered. I, at first, took in account my ready-to-lose penny but as I thought of the chance, I considered buying that ice cream.
Right then, we proceeded to the Tan-awan. It sounded strange to me since I had never known and heard that place. Yet, actually, before we reached up the spot, our driver seemingly took us elsewhere, saying that, yes, he was unable to understand us.
Getting on the destination, we all thought of what the mystery behind the Tan-awan was and why it was so secluded. That’s the only place, in fact, where we paid for entrance fee which I had first believed of nothing, but wastage.
The moment we went in, every little bad impression I had simply elapsed by the peculiar ethnic artifacts wondrously fated inside that vicinity. It was like being in the jungle of Tarzan and Jane. It took a lot of fun taking pictures with the stuff yonder particularly the ancient cabins where we indulged ourselves sleeping on the soothing and relaxing texture and nature of their floor.
Finally, the last destination was in Mine’s View, my most favorite spot in Baguio! That is what I repute as my sanctuary. Its ambiance would never be replaced by any great places in the world. For me, Mine’s View Park is peerless as it is. It’s a good place to meditate in. This is where you could experience the freshest and coolest air in the whole city of pines. So, if you’re like me, popped in an unpleasant circumstance, dare to take respite in this place.
It takes so many memories to be in Baguio and to let your eyes play with its wonders is the most splendid one. So, why don’t you try to spare a day, touring it perhaps, once more?
