with my beloved mother, Donna. I love you, Ma! |
There’s a job feasible to one
Only she can keep the sigh
Best gift that endowed to everyone
Eventually, you’d thank God.
How soft, uncreased the dress I have
Shoes so shiny, black on line
Bag on back, full of stuff
“Wait”, she runs and packs a lunch.
Wonder how this non-stop dance
Back and forth, then go around
Step by step with feet and hands
In the kitchen, she’s the star.
While waiting for a comet to land
A sound is formed, crushing on brush
Wonder how the clothes are dried
For it’s still dawn, she’s laundering aside.
Done in school, soon I’m home
Directly pass the threshold door
Wearing off the socks I put
Then, again, I’m busy on.
After this grueling day
Everybody’s home to stay
Face the table teemed with cakes
For just a clap, she cooks what may.
Sunday, Saturday, full-time off
Even I, take it off
Go, hang-out, study or play
Yet, have I checked if she’s okay?
As soon as she’s already damped
She doesn’t forget to off my lamp
Then drapes on me the pinky blanket
Mumbles and says, “Goodnight.”
Wonder how she slumbers at night
Especially when she can’t sleep tight
That’s why she needs my heartwarming smile
The only way to give her respite.
Wonder how to pay her back
Wonder how I got this luck
Simple words can make her cry
“I love you mom, a thousand times.”
